Search Marketing (SEO)
Google, MSN, Yahoo and the rest are key examples of search engines. The gateway to your website. Master these sites and your site will succeed. Relatively few people however have the know how to achieve high rankings in the Search Engines, or market effectively in the sponsored links sections. However our search optimisation geeks have the skills!
Web Search
In the world of the search engines Google is king. Therefore it is vital for any search engine optimisation to focus attention on the way Google ranks websites. However disregarding the other search engines is certainly foolish, they still deliver high volumes of traffic.
The way to rank highly in Google, or any search enigne for that matter is to design a website, and create content which is relevant to the search terms your clients will be using to look for your site. For example, if you were trying to attract web users searching for 'holidays to Paris', creating a page revolving around 'vacations to france' is not going to be successful.
Fight Them - Or Join Them
Put very simplistically there are two ways to achieve high rankings in the search engines. 1 - Try and beat the search engines by using tricks to get round their indexing systems. 2 - Give the search engines what they want.
What are the pros and cons? Method one is often used as short cut to a high ranking, it uses repetitive text and hidden optimisation tricks among other things. The big danger of this method, is that Google, Yahoo, MSN etc are familiar with all these techniques, and sooner or later they will penalise sites for using them, they could even blacklist sites altogether. IT IS NOT A GOOD LONG TERM STRATEGY! Method two however is far more robust. By understanding what the search enignes are looking for we can design sites that rank highly, long-term, and are unlikely to ever be penalised. Our SEO team have a long list of satisfied clients who are reaping the benefits for choosing an ethical, and commited search engine optimisation team.
